RealVNC Connect Viewer 8.5.0 released (August 2026)

RealVNC released RealVNC Connect Viewer 8.5.0 in August 2026, according to its release notes. They list one new feature, three fixes and one security change:

  • A refreshed homepage layout that guides users to the next step, whether they are connecting out to a device or accepting connections from others (one-time or unattended).
  • The Viewer's HTTP and RFB user agent string now identifies Windows 11 correctly.
  • After signing in with SSO, users no longer get a greyed-out "sign in" window.
  • Choosing "Actual size 100%" now sets the screen to the right size.
  • The release notes say: "Improved authentication security when connecting to ARD devices."
